At Leaping Toads Nursery, we proudly celebrate the rich mix of cultures and languages in our community. Every child is welcomed, valued and supported to feel proud of their identity, while developing curiosity, understanding and respect for others' heritages and the wider world around them.

A Nursery That Celebrates Home Languages

We are especially known for our strong support of children who speak more than one language. We understand that a child's home language is a vital part of their identity, emotional security and early learning.

We encourage children to continue developing their first language alongside English so they feel secure, understood and proud of their background. Our multilingual team speaks a wide range of languages, including Albanian, Italian, Hindi, Lithuanian, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian and Urdu. We work closely with families to learn key words from home so children feel recognised and reassured from their very first days with us.

 At nursery we:

Share songs, stories and

dual-language books

Greet children using familiar words from home

Use visual cues and gestures to support understanding and communication

We see bilingualism and multilingualism as a real strength, enriching the learning experience for all children and helping them grow in confidence in both their home language and English.

Our Team Speaks 13 Languages

Celebrating Diversity and Cultural Awareness

Children learn about the world through meaningful experiences that reflect different cultures, traditions and family backgrounds. By celebrating both our similarities and differences, children develop empathy, understanding and respect, along with confidence and pride in who they are.

 At nursery we:

Celebrate festivals and traditions from around the world

Share stories, music and experiences from different cultures

Use books and resources that reflect diverse families, ethnicities, abilities and roles
